It’s not rocket science, but influencer collaborations work. Whether you are a brand or an influencer yourself. These tactics are old as time. Collaborations-not to be mistaken for shout outs or give anyways, is defined as partnering with someone to create a new product or material. Thus is a great way to cultivate a following. Because it allows you to recognize others in your niche and puts you in front of their audience. The proof is in the likes and impressions. You might think that if you want to collaborate with an influencer you just ask them and it will be done. But there is more work done to garner the best results.

Create A Proposal
So you want to collaborate with an Influencer? Firstly, be clear on the goals you want to accomplish and the target audience you want to attract. Create a list of people you’d like to collaborate with. Always ensure that these individuals are within your niche. Then proceed to make a presentation to clarify the expectations and details. It is suggested that you form a relationship with the prospects before offering a collaboration. This is to ensure that their morals are aligned with yours. These details would not only ease and speed up the hunt for the right partner, it will attract willing participants.
Finding The Right Match
With an attractive proposal you should attract a lot of interest. But before your proposal is distributed you should consider closely who you are interested in. Ask yourself are we a good pair? Do I want to publicly engrave myself with this individual? If the answer is “yes” then proceed. Nevertheless, always request an analysis of the individual’s audience. Even better take a scroll through their content and assess how engaged their audience is. Follow your gut, the best collaborations are ones that aren’t forced.
Manage Your Time Realistically
It is imperative to have a plan. Although developing a scenario and creating quality content requires a lot of hard work for the creator’s part, rushing cannot benefit anyone. Consider the individual you are collaborating with and try to facilitate their schedule. Thus, compromising creates a cohesive relationship and allows plans to be executed.

Don’t Limit Yourself
A collaboration can be extended across several platforms and in different formats. For instance collaborating with Instagram Influencers does not have to come down to merely placing the items in their pictures. There are more platforms and concepts to be utilized. Try to present your collaborations in a variety of ways from in person events to podcasts, the world is your oyster.
Educate Yourself
Use every moment of a collaboration to learn more. You would be surprised by the expertise of other influencers, use that time to pick their brains. Each medium has its own dynamics, characteristics, and formats which work and fit there, thus ask questions. Find some answers to your problems. Use the opportunity and learn about a new platform.
Conclusion
Collaborations serve a much larger purpose besides growing your audience. It is a good opportunity to network and get in touch with industry professionals. You might wonder, what is the appeal? Well, it allows the members of your audience to witness you in a new space. Within this space you will be with like minded individuals, thus furthering your mental growth.

Don’t be afraid to be inspired by others! Use collaborations as a way to better yourself. After all, the best way to stay relevant is to evolve.
Hello there! This is an amazing article you’ve got here. I totally agree with all everything stated here especially the fact that one should look out for an influencer which you can relate with otherwise that business is not guaranteed and safe.
Thanks for sharing this with me, I’ve learnt a lot.
Aloha and thank you for this great post.
Personally I have worked with Influencers before to promote my products / services and I am actually also an Influencer who does the same.
I think one of the most important keys is to really partner and collaborate with influencers who believe in what you have to sell instead of just trying to advertise.
They are connected to their audience so the more that they like what you have to offer, the better and more they will show value to their market.
As an influencer, I have promoted things that I didn’t personally use or like, but I wanted to make a quick buck…
It just doesn’t feel right.
I do appreciate you sharing this!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this idea for getting traffic from collaborating with influencers. Are there any “standards” that influencers tend to observe? What is a good ballpark rate to pay? Do they generally provide any insight after a campaign has been run (e.g. how did response to your campaign compare to others)?
This can be a smart opportunity for the right market, but I’m still trying to figure out how to quantify ROI with this line of marketing.
Well depending on the influencer the price is typically $80-$8,000 USD, this depends on the size of the audience and how you would like to be reviewed, for instance the lower end influencer has 2000 followers, that would be roughly $80 for a post, maybe $100 for a video. While someone in the millions, would typically charge $5,000 per post, but it is your responsibility to ensure that the audience of the individual is authentic to get your ROI. Since it is a waste of time and money to collaborate with some that has an illegitimate audience.
Secondly a campaign insight is usually provided by the influencer afterwards, its simply bad manners if it doesn’t happen.
As for “standards” expect the unexpected and be cautious, since the space is very young you can only speak for yourself, that’s why its key to form a relationship before hand with your prospects to testify to their character and then engage in business.
